The saying you never know until you know is the short version of my story. My professional journey started at a very young age with low-overhead business endeavors. From there, I found my way to college and at Langston University School of Business where I joined the Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE). 

While in SIFE, I discovered a unique leadership quality I possessed which was leading from the back. Or, just leading by example. I gained valuable experience during my internships with Kraft Foods and JC Penny’s. From this experience, I was able to land a job as an assistant manager for Walmart Stores Inc. where I oversaw the daily operations of the business while managing over 200 staff members. 

I believe my experience at Walmart shaped my mind as a businessman. Wal-Mart teaches its managers to see the departments they oversee as a business. Their own business. I was able to see the behind the scene planning that generates billions of dollars every year. What I learned from this experience was the power of people and all that they can do.
